Description

The Version Control Systems Workshop was organized by the Computer Society of India (CSI-DBIT Student Chapter), Department of Information Technology, on 14 August 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at IT Lab 05 and IT Lab 06, DBIT. The session was conducted by Mr. Rutvij Kimmatkar and Mr. Dhanesh Mhase, Core Committee Members of CSI-DBIT, and guided by Prof. Udaychandra Nayak, CSI-DBIT Student Branch Counselor. The workshop focused on Git and GitHub, covering repository creation and management, initializing repositories, staging and committing changes, viewing project history, branching, pushing and pulling changes, GitHub collaboration, and managing pull requests. Participants also engaged in a hands-on Git Challenge involving repository setup, branching, committing, pushing, and collaborative pull request management to gain practical experience with real-world version control workflows.
